No one has talked about David Nagel's outstanding brush sets for Photoshop, so I thought I'd post this ditty:
They're free, David Nagel is a genius to devlop parameters and shapes for Photoshop brushes that truly mimick natural media almost as well as Painter, and here's where you can download some of them (I think he's up to series 70 now):
Watercolor brushes Hair Brushes which are $35 less than Jepe's Hairy Brushes, and good for retouching a little fuzz onto a pic of Uncle Fred and his balding pate.
textured brushes great for adding canvas texture to your strokes.
You might want to do a search on Creative Mac for more of the brushes. Windows users will need StuffIt Expander, but the brushes work just fine.
Here's an example of the Watercolor series; it takes zero learning curve to get interesting effects.
