Xara artist Alan Burns passed away recently, a loss to us all, I feel.
Alan's work will be immortalized in the Xara spinning screen saver cube, and I will always remember his phenomenal tech illustration of a pocketwatch.

It shouldn't come as a surprise that Alan accomplished a lot of things without the tools we now enjoy in version 4 such as feathering. Usually a practical joker, Alan would put things in his otherwise serious technical illustrations you won't notice until you zoom in 25,000% on the original artwork.
I remember one of his very first pieces was a promo for Xara in 1995, a fighter plane. If you zoomed, way, way in, there was a reflection of the Corel balloon in the windshield. evidently, the Xara Group was targeting CorelDraw.
The King is dead, long live the King.
