Nikkie inspired this emoticon, Mark:

...but her welcome is a sincere one. Her weak spot is chocolate covered coffee beans (ask Welles).

As long as we're talking contests, um...

The Biggest Natal Anniversary of All Time is around the bend. As you'll note if you go outside (I don't but I have it on good authority), stores are already stocking Christmas paraphernalia. Before Hallowe'en was the norm before our global economic meltdown, I was used to after Thanksgiving when I was growing up, but they had outdoor lights for sale at ****Mart on Labor Day!!!

To make a long story longer, the Annual Virtual Christmas Tree Decorating Festival is coming up soon. Look for the new area right here in the Semi-Regular forum soon.

Right after I figure out how to render 120,000 pine needles within a fortnight.

My Best,

Gare

The rendering of 120,000 pine needles begins with a single... oh never mind. :asleep:

...a single "instance", I've discovered.

Always wondered what that little icon that looks like a clone tool did.

Thanks, guys. I think through the past couple of days' readings I've gathered a sense of the tone around here. I like.

Oh, and chocolate-covered coffee beans are YUM--especially if it's dark chocolate. :too-cool:

So, when's the tutorial on the fancy new pine needle brush?

Lemme explain what's going on, Spinland:

For the past 7 years, one of us modeling weenies (last year Welles pulled a beee-u-tilful scene for us) renders a bare pine tree.

Then our members submit ornaments, then one or more of us use an image editor to graft the ornaments onto the tree until Christmas Eve. I post a progressive work that reflects every two or three days. It's really quite charming for all its nerdiness.

So we'll need ornaments, not a pine needles brush, although I'll be posting some Xara custom brush strokes in the next week so Xaraists can make fancy borners and stuff for Christmas cards. We also have a forum to show off members' cards.

My Best & Elven Magic,
Gare

P.S. The unoffical tone of the PDF is "happy anarchy".
And the Fairer Sex all make homages to Jack Sparrow every month.

I'm wondering whether those guys in the caps are Nikki creations? Something about the eyes...

Those are B & Bs, Spinner. Not Benedictine & Brandy but instead a riff on m & m s.

Barbara is fond of saying that she and I think so much alike, we're like two m & ms, the ones stuck together in the bottom of the bag.

I would never wish on a mortal enemy that they think like me.

Consider The Power put to ill gains. Arrrrg...

Okay, the light slowly dawns; I get it. What got me wondering were the eyes. In this thread Nikki's fish have a dissimilar eye configuration that stayed with me when I saw yours. Since googly eyes seem to be a hallmark of hers (witness:  ) I just had to ask.

It's an astigmatism, Spinner.
