I stumbled upon this, and this is
nuts.
ArtWeaver is a Freemium—the Pro version is €25...as of this writing that's about $36 U.S.—but that's not the point. The free version I'd say is somewhere around Photoshop 7; some bells and whistles aren't there such as fancy cursors, a billion plug-ins, and a vector Pen tool. But add to this Painter version 3 or so, complete with chalk brushes, nozzles, smearing tools...and (Windows) users have a painting toolkit that kicks the daylights out of GiMP any day.
I'm serious; yeah, I use Photoshop, but this is a "find", and I'm also a Curiosity Shoppe junkie! A lot of the menu commands are also identical. It's about a 7MB download.
ArtWeaver v1If you don't own an image editor, why not go with a free clone of the Industry Standard?
